I am not a Party groupie… I am a freedom groupie…
I think most would agree George W. Bush did not follow a true Conservative agenda. Perhaps he towed the present views of many in the Republican Party but certainly not the Conservative. They no longer are the same. In a few extremely important ways our past President’s agenda was akin to those on the other side of the aisle. The main aspect of his kinship with the Liberal agenda was his need to generate Governmental control over the still free people of the United States of America via an ever increasing big government while giving more and more freedom to mega business. The greed aspect of many in mega business evolved to be a major contributor to our current economic problems. Lest I get accused of blaming all our woes on the past administration let me be clear; George Bush’s administration was no less and certainly no more culpable than a good number of the prior administrations. The reason most blame George is only because he is the most recent and therefore foremost in our minds. Let us not forget his Republican administration also was overshadowed by a majority of Democrats in Congress. If one side is to blame… surely both share equally. Party bigotry is the only reason this truth is hidden from most.
George Bush’s administration did however make it easier for Barack Obama’s crew to move in the direction of mega-government by ignoring the danger signs that ultimately led to the financial collapse. Once the collapse advanced we the people of America turned a full one-eighty looking for change no matter what. THAT is what we have done for the past few decades instead of insisting on lasting change. We go from Left to the Right, to Right to the Left and back again. We consistently do it over and over and over.
Observing the growth of big government I have come to the conclusion it thus far resembles a ratchet. Each successive administration gets fatter, and fatter and fatter. Each time the parties change power they take it as a referendum to do as they please all in the name of change. Each party in power at the moment exercises their “executive guidance” over the people in different directions while pursuing their own party’s agenda. As they do the base government gets bigger and bigger and bigger. Each time power changes hands the cycle begins anew.
The past few administrations have had precisely the same attitude in that respect regardless of their rhetoric. G.W.’s big government initiative was to enact laws that actually placed mega business in control over the direction the country would evolve via enacting rules to actually help mega business under the guise of free enterprise. In many respects past and present administrations look at the definition of big business as being synonymous with We The People… they are not. Mega business is an entity in and of itself. It is the unintended evolution of one particular aspect of our free enterprise system. I heard a statistic Small Business employs eighty percent of our population. Small to big business truly are members of the We The People Club. I join the legions of a growing number of Americans when I say ANY business entity with the ability to affect the welfare of our economy based solely on their balance sheet is not in the best interest of our country. MEGA business may be related to an attitude of the lower case “we the people” but mega business certainly is not related to the attitude of the upper case “We The People.” I will explain shortly.
Now we supposedly dumped what many saw as the Republican’s evil ways for a bright new Administration more interested in a true America for The People… or so says “we the people.”
President Obama is obviously against a lot of things George Bush stood for. A very short list would be the War, foreign affairs, torture no matter how it is defined, limitations on stem cell research, and many true moral issues that were correctly supported by the majority only a few short years ago. Many of Barack Obama’s policies are nothing more than shiny things intended to distract. Barack Obama is a master at dangling shiny things. George’s inability to articulate distracted America. Barack Obama’s superior articulation with the aid of a teleprompter has thus far blinded the same.
Barack Obama and his administration are of the mind the People of the United States of America need more control to be able to function properly as World leaders. This absolutely is not true. Remember… up until a few short decades ago, as a collective group, the People of the United States of America were responsible for our stature in the world. Our Government rightly had little to do with it. The original Governmental body under GOD, put in place to serve us, has all but disappeared in practice. Originally the Government of the United States of America and “We The People” were much more of the same mind.
This is the gist of this essay; The Government of the United States of America is supposed to serve We The People. The Government of The United States of America is supposed to be comprised OF The People. It was intended to be made up BY The People. And finally the Government of the United States of America is supposed to be FOR The People.
Before I proceed let me note you will see I capitalize “We The People” even though it is not what we consider proper grammar. Why? Consider this… the three words, we, the, and people by themselves are individually not worthy of any particular respect. When you combine them in the text intended in the Constitution of the United States of America however “We The People” take on the historical meaning many have forgotten and wish to discard to serve the lower case, “we the people.” Through this essay the capitalized “We The People” will be replaced with lower case “we the people” when the lower case “we the people” version is needed to denote actions, attitudes, and foolishness contrary to what our forefathers intended and fought for. We The People have been the very building blocks of the most prosperous, powerful and generous country in the history of the world. Conversely lower case “we the people” are both intentionally and unintentionally attempting to tear it down. With that in mind I for one am not afraid to say the lower case “we the people” deserve little respect and certainly receive none of mine. Many of us still belong to the big boy and girl “We The People” club. The club is growing. Lest I be accused of bashing let me say I certainly am not pointing a finger at you the reader when I say lower case “we the people.” I don’t think you would be reading this unless there happened to be at least a spark of the true intended feeling of being an American in your heart. I must say God bless you. Yes, GOD Bless you… I stand on God’s ultimate and undisputable rights as well. On the other hand if you already threw this away as rubbish… you wouldn’t get the point anyway. Only those of us that should be reading this actually are reading this. Pretty arrogant statement huh? Perhaps it can be defined as such by some. These days however this subject is too important to play both sides of the aisle. Who am I to say such a thing? Actually I’m no one special in-particular… really. I’m just thus far a free American. I’m a free American who is more than a little concerned about our future being preserved as it was intended by our forefathers. In this authors estimation any and ALL members of the big boy and girl We The People Club are still something unique on God’s earth.
It is the view of a growing number of Americans that both the liberal Republicans and the Liberal Democrats, AKA Progressives, AKA Neo Collectivists, are leading us down the wrong path. Presently BOTH parties are for more governmental control. Each party just happens to camouflage their intent via different rhetoric. One party wants our Government to control We The People via Government owned social programs, one wants to control We The People via the power of their involvement with mega business. I think perhaps the latter is the less intentional but the end effect certainly is the same. The goal of both is ultimate control over We The People. With some exceptions I think both sides of the aisle are somehow weirdly well intentioned but both also are nonetheless unacceptable. The ultimate problem is we the people currently outnumber We The People. If the upper case We The People were the majority the Government would be powerless to gain further control. The true We The People would still be strong enough to insist government serves us once again… as was intended. Sadly the lower case we the people are more interested in the handouts they and theirs can receive from the government than they are with the intended American way of life. The other aspect of the lower case we the people consists of no individual identity at all. It consists of the greedy aspects of Corporate America. The greedy of Corporate America are only interested in their own advancement. They are not interested in the American way of life that got them where they are but the control more and more and money ultimately provides. With more and more money in their control they can not only utilize the dollar value itself but all the leverage and political support it can muster. The cycle of the system is unintentionally devious in its evolution. The lobbyists truly rule both sides. Does that mean the answer to today’s situation is to do a one eighty from free enterprise? I for one say absolutely not.
Unfortunately the lower case we the people (I prefer those the people but it just doesn’t flow well) on the other side of the aisle see big government in the form of social programs that insure some kind of twisted equality based on everyone owning the same amount? Based on everyone being rewarded equally regardless of effort?
Before I leave let me say it is not hard for those of you presently in the we the people club to enter, or in most cases return to, the We The People club. It is simply a matter of admitting you would rather be represented by a government that allows freedom and all it implies instead of a government that controls all… Including you.
Thanks folks and God bless all you members of the big boy and girl We The People club. You are the ones that understand the right to failure is as much of being free as is the right to succeed. You are the ones who will take America back.
