I wrote this two days after 911. On top of the emotion we all felt with the attack, our daughter had her life threatened and her car trashed at Brockport University for fulfilling her duties as a Resident Assistant. This is the culmination:

STAND!

This is for all those that are attacking innocents in this most terrifying of times; this is for those who are attacking innocents based solely on their faith or country of origin.

I do not believe in aliens or UFO’s, this is only supposition.

It’s too bad this attack did not come from above. If it did, the ENTIRE world would be united. The entire world, We Christians, the Jewish, the Buddhists, the Moslems, and even those of you who are non-believers would clearly be able to identify the fanatics of our human race who support and rejoice in such an evil act perpetrated this past Tuesday.

This attack did not come from above. This attack just as certainly did not come from God. People need to know the latter with as much certainty as the former. This attack did not even directly come from Satan – People give this fool too much credit. I have no doubt Satan initiated it but people; people with evil hearts perpetrated this most cowardly crime. God created each of us; no exceptions, every man woman and child was created by God. Within each of us, God gave us the ability to make up our own minds. Each of us makes a conscious decision to follow either good or evil.

We need to come together as a world community to combat the evil we witnessed this week. Perhaps a way to identify our enemies and realize solidarity during this most dangerous of times, is to first stand back and imagine aliens attacked us. Perhaps we need to imagine the worldwide solidarity and resolve that would prevail. If such a thing happened, we would ALL not even consider ANY ethnic or religious group to be the enemy as a whole. If we were attacked from above, those misguided and cowardly souls that supported the “aliens” would be much easier to identify.

We would know all the peoples and /or governments of the Middle East are not our enemies. We would not be pointing fingers at any human just because of their physical attributes. WE MUST NOT PERSECUTE INNOCENTS DUE TO IGNORANCE.

You folks, and fortunately you appear to be a minority, that are currently unjustly persecuting and terrorizing our fellow faithful American citizens just because they are of the Muslim faith. Those of you who are blaming anyone and everyone just because God decided to place them in a part of the world YOU do not agree with. You are no better than those that attacked New York and Washington. Who do you think you are? YOU are a terrorist. You are using the same methods YOU and the rest of the world are condemning!! Does this not ring a bell that makes the sound HYPOCRITE!!! What are you thinking? Who is your God? You obviously do not pray to the same God as myself and millions of other Christians do!!

It’s good you feel a need to fight. It’s good you are angry. IT SHOWS YOU ARE NOT DEAD! Do your country a favor, do yourself a favor and re-direct your anger! Do some good! Build instead of trying to tear down! Give money. You can’t afford it? You truly can’t afford it? Get involved in a donation drive. Get involved. If you don’t have time to get involved, re-prioritize! You have time to cause pain, MAKE time to show intelligence! Make time to show you care!

And you folks in our colleges and other higher educational institutions, it has recently forcefully been brought to the forefront of my mind that some of you students are guilty of terrorism. Some acts of terrorism have been perpetrated on our campuses this week!!! You are guilty of terrorism against your fellow students. You are sometimes guilty of terrorizing because of race, sometimes creed, and at times just because someone does something you don’t agree with. Some of you have performed acts of vandalism or terrorism BECAUSE YOU have been caught breaking the rules and someone had to enforce them. Some have even destroyed someone’s property just to be Cool. I hope one day you learn the true meaning of cool – for your sake. Haven’t you learned anything from Tuesday’s events? YOU are currently being trained to take control of this world as my generation passes on the torch to YOU! You are the future and it is up to YOU to define what kind of world your children inherit!

Terrorism is terrorism is terrorism. Whatever cowardly form it takes, for whatever reason. If you cannot confront your problems in the daylight, if you must sneak around and cause fear from the shadows – You are no better than those YOU have condemned this week!

I am a middle aged, middle-class, Caucasian, practicing Christian American. I am horrified by this week’s events. I am horrified by the reactions of SOME of our citizens. I am however, encouraged and motivated by the love, wisdom, support, and solidarity the majority of our citizens and the rest of the world have shown.

Those of you who have been terrorized no matter the form it may take, please, please, do not give in. If you give in, you give THEM hope. If you give in, they win – this must not happen!! You have a responsibility to stand. Know you are not alone. Know you are on the side of right and have faith in a power greater than any of us. Stand and face your attackers with courage. Stand and organize supporters – we are many. If necessary, quietly build a coalition then face your attackers in the light. Stand and face them knowing these cowards and their supporters are a minority. The population of the earth that perform and/or support acts of terrorism are akin to one little speck of fly crap in the community we call our world.

Those of you who support and perform acts of terrorism, whatever form it takes, PAY ATTENTION! Those of you who are too cowardly to standup in the daylight to make a point, PAY ATTENTION! As WE, the WORLD citizens you have awakened make ourselves known; I assure you WE will not hide in the shadows!! We will face you in the light filled with a fierceness YOU have created. You will be pulled from the dark by force. WE WILL PREVAIL!
